Studio Stories

Where the story of your studio meets the rhythms that keep us all going

A monthly space for artists to engage in facilitated conversations.
Join us to find clarity, community, and the systems that sustain them.

Being an artist is often a solitary pursuit, but building a business doesn’t have to be

Once a month, we gather to set down the hustle and speak frankly about what it actually takes to stay creative and organized.

This isn’t a webinar or a high-pressure networking event.

It is a space to be open about where you're at, to be validated by those who walk the same path, and to discover the small, sustainable systems that keep our spirits and our businesses moving.

We gather to share...

Real Stories

Safe, open discussion about where we’re actually struggling and what's helped others

Collective Wisdom

A glimpse into how others manage their creativity and daily operations, what works and what doesn't

Intentional Systems

New (and familiar) ideas on creating, organization, marketing, selling, and staying on track

It was awesome - and I have to say, really soothing/relieving - to chat with Alisa!

She has a beautiful mix of “let’s get shit done” energy with equal measures of “we’re all very human here” and I love that!

- Zoë K.M. Foster, Shamanic Artist

The feeling of being invigorated by others instead of drained is lovely :) It changes my whole day to be able to connect so authentically.

Hi, I'm Alisa, an operations partner and systems designer for creative small businesses. I work side by side with artists to build the structure of their business so they have space to create and sell.

I'm also a formally trained illustrator and maintain a drawing and painting practice. I understand your creative spirit because I'm right there with you.

I facilitate these conversations because I know that sometimes the most productive thing you can do for your business is to find people who understand you.

FAQs

Fair, life is busy. These conversations are capped at 45min and held during lunch time (in the EST timezone) to minimize disruption. If you don't have time right now, I hope you'll join us another time.

I'm afraid not. These are meant to be conversations between those who are present. If you're not able to join for the topic you're interested in, don't sweat it. Send me a note letting me know you're interested in the topic and I'll flag it as something to resurface in the future. You can always join us for another session.

So am I! These conversations are a blend of facilitated and unstructured. They're designed to make it easy to both listen and share. Think of it as a low stakes way to practice talking to others about something you're both interested in.

Ish? It is, insofar as you may meet people you don't already know and that's always filled with possibility. And it's not because you're not here to put on a forced performance and feel uncomfortable. Instead, you're here to be yourself and learn/share authentically.

I feel strongly about connecting creatives because we all tend to work solo, shut away in our studios. Not a bad thing, most of us love this. And we still benefit from meeting other humans. It's not easy to find these kinds of spaces, and certainly not for free, so I'm creating what I haven't found. And if I've invited you to join on of these conversations, it's because I thought you were interesting and wanted to get to know you better.

If you'd like some company and camaraderie on this lonely path of creative entrepreneurship, this is a good place for you. You'll meet other people who are also building their businesses and hear their stories. You can share your stories. I guide the conversations so we don't get stuck and so we finish on time. I hope you'll join us.

Alisa has such incredible calm and ease, asks the right questions, and knows what she's talking about!
